Oncology Franchise Lead, Iraq and Iran

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Business Unit Director, the Oncology Franchise Lead will be responsible for oversight and leadership of oncology commercial activities in Iraq and Iran.

Responsibilities include build-out and market planning to ensure that oncology commercial/marketing strategy, tactics and infrastructure are in place to successfully achieve sales, operating plans, and critical milestones. In addition, the franchise lead will work closely with policy, market access and medical/scientific affairs and will play a critical role in shaping commercial strategy and ensuring execution excellence for the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Vision: Develop and execute an actionable oncology strategy that aligns with our Company's global objectives while addressing specific local market needs.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct detailed assessments of market conditions and trends to identify growth opportunities, including competitive analysis and regulatory considerations.
  • Financial Acumen: Forecast & track of product sales and expenses in alignment with the Business Unit and finance department, utilizing local external and global internal assumptions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, medical affairs, market access, and regulatory teams to facilitate the successful commercialization of oncology products.
  • Inspirational Leadership: Build a shared vision for oncology aspirations within the organization and the broader healthcare community, motivating internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers and government agencies, to promote oncology initiatives and enhance our Company’s presence and reputation.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the financial aspects of the oncology franchise, ensuring effective use of resources and maximizing return on investment.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the franchise, utilizing data to inform decisions and optimize strategies.
  • Team Management: Ensure that sales team delivers all approved activities for the products, in line with marketing strategies and within approved expense budgets.
  • Team Development: Lead training initiatives to enhance product knowledge and effectiveness among sales and medical teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure that all franchise activities comply with local regulations and our Company's ethical standards, promoting a culture of integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Advanced degree (Doctorate or Master’s) in Life Sciences, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree is an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or Oncology industry, with a proven track record in franchise management, commercial roles, or related functions. People Management experience is a plus.
  • Regional Expertise: Strong understanding of Iraq and Iran market dynamics, healthcare systems, and local regulations affecting oncology distribution and access is a plus.
  • Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, inspire collaboration, and drive alignment towards common goals.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a strong data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Communication Proficiency: Fluent in English
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
