About the Role
An amazing opportunity has arisen for An amazing opportunity has arisen for an entrepreneurial and strategic Sales Manager to enhance the performance of our Oncology sales team and achieve operational excellence through capability building and coaching for performance.
This role is responsible for building key capabilities, driving strategic initiatives in field execution, optimizing field force effectiveness, and implementing innovative sales strategies. You will be instrumental in enhancing the skills and performance of our field team through targeted training programs, data-driven territory account planning, and the implementation of a robust sales model.
The Sales Manager will also focus on building omnichannel capabilities and executing omnichannel field communication, optimizing resource allocation, and driving market penetration through segmentation and targeting strategies. You will lead the Oncology Account Managers (AMs) team to deliver superior customer experience across Hungary and through multiple channels.
This position is part of the Oncology Leadership Team and will report to the Business Unit Director (BUD) for Oncology.
The role combines frequent field days across all of Hungary (70%) with head office days in Budapest (30%).
What you will do:
- High-Performing Team Leadership: Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and psychological safety through inspirational leadership.
- Territory Business Planning & Execution: Develop data-driven yearly and quarterly territory plans and ensure timely execution and evaluation.
- Omnichannel Cycle Planning: Lead efforts to synchronize marketing activities across channels to enhance customer engagement.
- Segmentation and Targeting: Drive segmentation strategies to focus on high-priority customer segments and lead the creation of customer personas.
- Capability Building & Field Coaching: Develop training initiatives on sales call models and competitive selling techniques, and conduct field visits for coaching.
- Training & Development Programs: Design and deliver training programs for scientific knowledge and selling techniques, including structured onboarding for new hires.
- Sales Tools & Resource Management: Optimize the use of digital sales tools and CRM systems, and propose effective allocation of sales resources.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish and manage sales KPIs and analytics to track performance and refine sales tactics.
- SIP Management: Set quarterly sales targets, monitor SIP target achievement, and manage SIP payout responsibilities.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing and medical affairs for consistent messaging and communicate field insights to influence strategic planning.
What You Bring:
In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:
- Bachelor's degree in health science
- 5+ years of experience in sales or sales management, preferably within oncology or a related pharmaceutical sector.
- Experience in Sales Operations and Sales Excellence is highly desirable.
- Strong oncology market knowledge and understanding of the therapeutic landscape.
- Proven track record in capability building, including coaching on advanced sales skills such as sales call model, competitive selling, and account management.
- Strong analytical skills to leverage data for strategic decision-making and territory optimization.
- Patient and customer orientation, prioritizing internal and external customer perspectives in decision-making and service practices.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performance teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment, balancing multiple priorities and stakeholders while building partnerships.
- Proficiency in using effective involvement and persuasion strategies to gain acceptance of ideas and commitment to actions.
- Results orientation with a proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales and qualitative objectives.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal communication skills that inspire and energize others.
- Strong motivational acumen through effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Veeva), digital sales enablement platforms, and data analysis tools and dashboards.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
