POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Remote Diagnostic Audiologist provides remote diagnostic audiology services to our partnering ENT practices. This role will work with an onsite MA or equivalent providing comprehensive audiology evaluations including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, video otoscopy, and immittance testing as well as initial fitting of air conduction hearing devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works with the ENT Clinic Staff to provide diagnostic audiology services as directed by the ENT group including:
- Pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and immittance testing.
- Initial “first-fit” of Air Conduction hearing aids including use and care counseling.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to assess and analyze auditory function.
- Chart notes in ENT EMR, write reports as appropriate including making a recommendation to the ENT as to next audiology steps.
- Communicate assessment findings to patients in a clear and empathetic manner as directed by ENT.
- Document patient interactions and maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record system.
Requirements:
- Minimum Master’s Degree in Audiology from an accredited institution.
- State licensure and certification as a Diagnostic Audiologist in Virginia.
- Experience with telehealth technology and remote patient care is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
