The Senior Specialist, Technical Product Manager for Emerging Research Data Product team will be part of the Scientific data product team. In this role, they will work with product teams, technical teams, SMEs and stakeholders to uncover and communicate user needs and assist in conducting product discovery activities to create data products.

You will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams helping to solve complex data problems. You will have to understand complexities in Research data and work with stakeholder, engineering team to make data understandable and accessible.

The Scientific Data Product Line (SD) provides a combination of technology, infrastructure, software, and personnel to support large scale scientific data consumption and computing comprising of the Scientific Data Platform, Modeling and Machine Learning Platforms, High Performance Computing (HPC) workflows, and “experience” products such as visualization, modeling workbenches, and analytics development environments.

This is a permanent, hybrid and full-time role.

Key Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Gathers, manages, and prioritizes product requirements that detail user problems and needs, technical constraints and strategic objectives

  • Develop and maintain deep domain expertise in preclinical drug discovery process

  • Create and refine product backlogs, translating complex scientific requirements into actionable user stories for development teams

  • Collaborate with product managers to define and drive strategy, while supporting day-to-day execution with engineering teams

  • Act as a user expert and customer champion, articulating and advocating for the needs of scientists and researchers in the drug discovery process

  • Justify product improvements with a value-focused approach, considering the unique challenges of preclinical research

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience working with customers to define requirements, preferably in data analytics within the pharmaceutical industry

  • Proven experience building ERDs, logical data models, source-target mappings, and writing SQL queries

  • Hands-on experience or working knowledge of data management services such as AWS Athena, Glue, S3, Redshift, or similar tools & services

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex scientific problems into actionable requirements and tasks

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders in the drug discovery domain

  • Ability to work independently, anticipating and resolving problems in a fast-paced research environment

  • Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, particularly in preclinical research settings

  • Understanding of medallion architecture concepts

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Background in life sciences, bioinformatics, or related field

  • Familiarity with common preclinical research tools and data types

  • Experience with data governance and compliance in regulated industries
