The Position
We are looking for the Master Data COE Lead, who will be primarily responsible for ensuring the growth of our Master Data Management (MDM) area, in ensuring the data is accurate, consistent and accessible for the group to make better decisions. This will improve the GSMG / GWES organizations operational efficiency and master data effectiveness across the various systems and applications, ensuring a single source of truth for data. The role will also require deep knowledge and experience of implementing a comprehensive master data management strategy that can be adopted and scalable for the entire organization.
What will you do?
- Collaborate directly with the Info Governance & Stewardship Lead in creating and implementing comprehensive master data management (MDM) strategies that align with the organization overall business objectives and data governance framework.
- Define and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across the organization.
- Collaborate with various departments (e.g., IT, Finance, Operations, Marketing) to understand their data needs and ensure that master data supports their processes and decision-making.
- Oversee the integration of master data across different systems and applications to ensure a single source of truth. This may involve working with IT teams to implement MDM tools and technologies.
- Provides valuable insights to various teams for designing and implementing data pipelines. Cooperate closely with Data Engineers/Analysts in data pipeline testing and evaluation.
- Lead change management efforts related to MDM initiatives, ensuring that stakeholders within the business area organizations are engaged and informed throughout the process.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in master data processes and practices, leveraging industry best practices and emerging trends.
- Assign and manage data stewardship roles within the organization, ensuring that individuals are responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of master data.
- Complete ad-hoc projects as required to support overall MDM initiatives and identify continuous improvement opportunities to optimize MDM procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with leadership and stakeholders to achieve key objectives and deliverables.
- Help facilitate a Community of Practice, drive process standardization and collect feedback for improvement.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum of 6-9 years of Data Management, Data & Analytics, and/or Procurement with a focus on digital enablement
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of business processes supported by transaction processing capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and manage an effective team of highly qualified and culturally diverse professionals
- Fluency in English language plus one additional language preferred (French, Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Strong Information Management Background Skills in Master Data Management, Data Quality, Information Governance, Data Modelling, Information Architecture and Metadata management
- Proven expertise in leading-edge practices, techniques, and/or technologies within Data, Analytics & Information Management
- Demonstrated ability to partner with business stakeholders/leaders and navigate across conflicting priorities to balance critical, tactical and strategic needs.
- Deep level of experience in processes and methodologies for managing big scale databases
- Deep experience in handling big data sets as well as relational databases
- Self-motivated, value-oriented with a mindset of continuous learning. Experience managing and motivating multiple teams; Excellent communication and presentation skills for a wide range of audiences. Communicates candidly and fluently in English

- Experience leading change in an organization
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for business meetings, workshops and leadership meetings
- Travel expectations can be up to 10% of the time
