Technical Manager Livestock Switzerland (m/f/d)

Our Veterinary team use their scientific background to provide technical expertise and education to our customers, sales and marketing teams. With a deep knowledge of pharmacology and animal health we engage scientific exchange with external experts and industry leaders ensuring the scientific value of our animal health portfolio is understood.

The Technical Manager Livestock (m/f/d) is the first point of contact for veterinary expert advice. The Technical Manager will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the technical strategy and tactics for the species-specific portfolio (products for cattle, swine) and in order to meet sales objectives, enhance company and product positioning, and drive market growth. Reporting directly to the Livestock Business Unit Director in Switzerland, the technical manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical and scientific strategy. This role is primarily field-based but will require some office-based meetings and activities. Fluency in German and English is required, and French proficiency is preferred.

The Technical Manager Livestock (m/f/d) is empowered to

  • Be responsible for Technical Excellence, Training and Support

    • Ensure the sales team and colleagues are fully trained and updated on all technical matters related to our portfolio and the broader market environment.

    • Regular customer visits and active support and development of the field force

    • Position the company as a technical expert in the relevant market areas

    • Active role for customer development and managing key opinion leaders

    • Design and organize engaging scientific customer events, as well as sponsor external events to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership.

  • Identify, build and develop internal and external relationships:

    • Foster constructive relationships with colleagues across the local Animal Health business, including sales, marketing, and regulatory teams.

    • Collaborate with European and global technical teams to align local strategies with the global vision.

    • Establish connections with key opinion leaders, customers, and industry partners.

    • Represent the interests of the Swiss business at international levels.

    • Participate in key business meetings to communicate technical plans and educate stakeholders.

    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Animal Health business, the Swiss market, and the competitive environment.

  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams

    • Engage in cross-functional product teams involving marketing, finance, technical, sales, planning, and other stakeholders.

    • Ensure a cohesive approach to the development, marketing, and sale of new and existing animal health products and services.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Veterinary degree

  • Strong background as veterinary practitioner in Livestock

  • Solid and up-to-date technical veterinary knowledge of the relevant species area

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Ability to obtain, analyze and interpret market intelligence and research data to derive conclusions and recommend creative solutions is essential

  • Good time management, project management and organizational skills

  • Ability to brief and manage the relationship with external stakeholders and influencers

  • Fluent in German and English, additional French proficiency preferred

  • Existing network in the Swiss veterinary market is an advantage

  • Class B (car) driving license
