Role Overview
A DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust CI/CD workflows and reusable components, creating integration points with other platforms such as Ansible Tower and cloud providers. Key tasks include building and maintaining a library of reusable GitHub Actions workflows and custom actions, be responsible for defining standardized mechanisms to run any CI/CD tasks as well as building and maintaining a library of customised Terraform modules and Ansible playbooks.
What will you do in this role
Design, implement, and maintain complex reusable CI/CD workflows that are used across our IT ecosystem
Design, implement, and maintain a collection of Terraform modules and Ansible playbooks
Identify issues related to software development activities and propose practical solutions to resolve issues.
Prepare design options for the working environment of methods, procedures, techniques, tools, and people. Select systems and software life cycle working practices for software components and micro-services.
Create and document detailed designs for simple software applications and components. And contribute to the design of components of larger software systems.
Work within a matrix organizational structure, reporting to both the functional manager and the project manager.
Participate in project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with both functional and project goals.
What should you have
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or any Technology stream.
3+ years of experience in building CI/CD pipelines with any technology (GitLab, GitHub Actions or Jenkins).
5+ years of experience in delivering software into cloud (preferably AWS)
Demonstrated expertise in leveraging Terraform and Ansible for automated infrastructure deployment and automated application management
Experienced in software engineering practices (including versioning, release management, deployments, agile & related software tools).
Cloud-native, ideally AWS certified.
Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Proven record of delivering high-quality results.
Product and customer-centric approach.
