Position Overview - Basic Functions & Responsibility

The Global Clinical Supply (GCS) organization, within our Research & Development Division, is accountable for managing the 'end-to-end' integrated clinical supply chain across all of the Research & Development Division portfolio to enable the execution of any clinical trial using our company's asset. GCS supports more than 300 Phase I-IV clinical trials run inhouse, 400+ outsourced or run by partners, as well as our company's IIS clinical trials (200+) and External Collaborations (~200+). GCS is accountable for the planning, sourcing, labeling, packaging and delivery of clinical supplies to clinical sites across more than 60+ countries, all in accordance with US and WW regulations, company policies and standard operating procedures.

The Senior Director of Clinical Supply Systems (CSS) is a key member of the GCS Operational Excellence Leadership Team and GCS Extended Leadership team. In alignment with our company's Enterprise Leadership Skills as a multi-team leader, the Head of CSS will focus on long-term planning for our Research & Development Division digital needs and translating strategic priorities into integrated operational team activities. The Senior Director of CSS will also ensure measurable and sustainable results through effective resource allocation, cross-divisional partnerships such as with IT and execution of innovative strategies to enhance the organization’s performance. In addition, the Head of CSS will inspire and oversee multiple teams and ensure that team leaders are effectively supporting and empowering their individual leaders.

This role will ensure a strategic digital roadmap is in place for GCS and executed to deliver on the evolving needs of the Research & Development Division pipeline. This includes:

  • artificial intelligence and robotic process automation to employ “bots” or “digital workers” to automate repetitive, rules-based tasks historically performed by staff in our move from proficiency to efficiency.
  • implementation and maintenance of our ERP system SAP and any associated business systems needed to sustain on time and in full clinical supply to patients.
  • implementation and maintenance of business insights and analytics regarding business reporting or digital tools to facilitate our organizational needs

In addition to the long-term strategic roadmap, the Senior Director of CSS is accountable for day-to-day management and business continuity of clinical supply systems to deliver clinical supply to patients for our Research & Development Division.

Primary Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategy development
  • Talent attraction, development and retention
  • Performance management
  • Ensures efficient and compliant E2E digital processes and data management.
  • Strengthen collaborative and effective relationships and governance models with key partners and suppliers
  • Set clear strategies with our key partners to ensure alignment and key performance indicators to ensure flawless execution and timely delivery

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with 15 years' experience or MBA and 12 years' experience. >5 years people management experience.
  • Understanding of Clinical trials, GMP and GCP regulations
  • Experience with SAP as an ERP system

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The salary range for this role is

$169,700.00 - $267,200.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
