Job Description

You will drive the architecture, deployment, and support of robust Linux-based infrastructure, while also managing a cutting-edge internal engineering laboratory. This hybrid role combines deep technical expertise in Linux systems and telecommunications with responsibility for lab operations, hardware management, and infrastructure strategy across multiple engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade Linux infrastructure supporting both development and production environments

• Manage and optimize a complex engineering lab, including physical servers, networking equipment, embedded systems, and specialized telecom devices

• Oversee lab operations: rack layout, cabling, power distribution, cooling, and hardware provisioning

• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure lab resources align with evolving R&D needs

• Drive strategic planning for infrastructure, including cost optimization, capacity forecasting, and vendor coordination

• Establish and maintain access controls, monitoring systems, asset tracking, and lab automation workflows

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship in Linux, infrastructure, and telecom topics

Technologies & Focus Areas:

• Advanced Linux systems administration: Debian/Ubuntu, systemd, kernel tuning, bash scripting

• Networking: L2/L3, routing, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, diagnostics

• Telecommunications: RS232/485, IP telephony (SIP), serial buses, modems, multiplexers

• Physical infrastructure: hardware lifecycle, inventory control, PXE boot, RAID/NAS storage, Preseed/Kickstart

• High-availability environments, monitoring (Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus), and remote access/security best practices
