Job Description

The Global Sourcing Management Group (GSMG) & Global Workplace & Enterprise Services (GWES) are part of the our organization's Global Support Functions (GSF). GSMG plays a critical role in innovating for a more hopeful future by collaborating with business partners, customers, and suppliers to deliver value, insights, and solutions. The GWES organization is comprised of Facility Management, Real Estate Strategy, Transactions & Dispositions, Energy Management & Sustainability, Workplace Strategy, Integrated Facility Management, Analytics & Innovation, Asset Management, and Maintenance Excellence for all global commercial, mixed-use campuses, and research laboratories.

Within GSMG and GWES is the Digital Strategy & Insights Office that is responsible for accelerating business outcomes through digital enablement. This team consists of a Digital Capability, Information Governance, Business Process, and Digital Delivery functions. The Info Governance & Stewardship Team includes a Master Data COE Lead, which will play a pivotal role within the Digital Strategy & Insights organization by overseeing and managing the GSMG / GWES organizations master data management practices.

The Master Data Steward will be primarily responsible in ensuring the GSMG / GWES functional master data is accurate, consistent, complete and accessible for the group to make better decisions. This will improve the GSMG / GWES organizations operational efficiency and master data effectiveness across the various systems and applications, ensuring a single source of truth for data.

The role will also require deep knowledge and experience in data validation, duplicate resolution, data quality issues identification / resolution of comprehensive master data management strategy that can be adopted and scalable for the entire organization.

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborate with the Master Data COE Lead to execute master data management (MDM) strategies and ensure adherence to established data governance policies and frameworks within the procurement and global workplace domain.
  • Implement and apply data governance policies, standards, and operating procedures to maintain high levels of accuracy, completeness, and compliance for master data.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Sourcing, Finance, Supply Chain, IT) to understand operational data needs and ensure that master data supports processes.
  • Support the integration and maintenance of master data across systems such as SAP MDG, ECC, Ariba, and third-party enrichment providers (e.g., D&B), ensuring consistency across platforms.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Analysts by contributing business and domain expertise to data pipeline validation, master data mapping, and issue resolution for datasets.
  • Support change management and onboarding efforts for master data users and stakeholders across the organization, ensuring adoption of data quality practices and stewardship responsibilities.
  • Monitor and identify areas for improvement in master data quality, validation workflows, and governance processes by raising issues, suggesting enhancements, and applying domain knowledge.
  • Take ownership of daily stewardship tasks, including data creation, validation, deduplication, enrichment, and exception handling, ensuring timely and accurate updates to master data.
  • Execute ad-hoc stewardship projects such as data clean-up, audit preparation, or mapping exercises to support sourcing compliance and reporting needs.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, including sourcing teams, compliance officers, and finance analysts, to gather feedback and resolve data issues collaboratively.
  • Actively participate in a Community of Practice, contribute to process standardization, training content, and the continuous improvement of data stewardship practices

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-7 years of Data Management, Data & Analytics, and/or Procurement with a focus on digital enablement
  • Familiarity with SAP MDG, ECC, S/4HANA, Ariba, or similar enterprise systems
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of business processes supported by transaction processing capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and manage an effective team of highly qualified and culturally diverse professionals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Certifications in data governance or MDM tools are a plus (e.g., DAMA, Collibra, SAP MDG).

Technical & Interpersonal Skills Requirements

  • Strong Information Management Background Skills in Master Data Management, Data Quality, Information Governance, Data Modelling, Information Architecture and Metadata management
  • Proven expertise in leading-edge practices, techniques, and/or technologies within Data, Analytics & Information Management.
  • Working knowledge of data quality principles, including profiling, validation, deduplication, and exception handling in enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with business stakeholders/leaders and navigate across conflicting priorities to balance critical, tactical and strategic needs.
  • Experience in handling big data sets as well as relational databases.
  • Self-motivated, value-oriented with a mindset of continuous learning. Experience managing and motivating multiple teams; Excellent communication and presentation skills for a wide range of audiences. Communicates candidly and fluently in English

Physical Position Requirements

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for business meetings, workshops and leadership meetings.
  • Travel expectations can be up to 10% of the time.
