Reporting to the Mid-Europe Region (MER) Finance Lead, we are currently seeking a Finance Director for Greece, Cyprus & Malta who will be a key member of the local and Mid-Europe Leadership Teams. This role carries full accountability for the financial stewardship, strategic financial leadership, and operational excellence across the cluster’s businesses and entities.
As the Finance Lead, you will spearhead a high-performing finance team, driving business partnership and financial governance to support the broader leadership agenda. You will ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting, foster continuous improvement in finance processes, and act as a trusted advisor to business leaders across multiple divisions. Your role will be pivotal in aligning stakeholders, managing risk and controls, and leading transformational change initiatives that enhance financial performance and organizational effectiveness. In addition, you will champion talent development and build a culture of integrity, collaboration, and excellence within the finance function.
Primary Activities
- Lead a high-performing finance team that provides business support and strong direct contribution to the Global Human Health leadership team agenda, plan, and execution.
- Serve as a member of the Human Health (HH) Leadership Team and the Mid-Europe Finance Leadership Team.
- Provide business partnership and support primarily to HH business leadership, as well as to other divisions operating across the cluster (Global Support Functions, our Research and Development Division, our Animal Health Division.
- Ensure accurate and compliant reporting of financial results (US GAAP and local statutory) for all businesses and entities within the cluster, including financial stewardship, statutory reporting and tax support for all legal entities covering including Human Health / Animal Health Divisions as well as our and our research and development divisions.
- Provide financial support regarding all aspects of working capital management, customer service activities, and the design of commercial interaction with customers.
- Drive stakeholder alignment across functions and divisions as an enterprise leader (BSC, CoE, local and regional teams).
- Foster continuous improvement of finance processes and tools in alignment with company initiatives.
- As the statutory director of legal entities in Greece, act as the key point of contact for internal and external auditors, tax and other adminstrative authorities.
- Steward strong internal controls to ensure integrity and compliance.
- Define and drive talent management and people development agenda, including building a culture throughout the organization which emphasizes diversity and inclusion, collaboration and teamwork, personal accountability and continuous improvement.
- Actively contribute to the Mid-Europe Finance Leadership team agenda, strategy, and priorities.
Background Requirements and Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a university-level degree and bring over 10 years of professional experience with a proven track record in financial leadership and delivery, and strong people management. Experience working across diverse geographies and business environments is essential, along with a demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively and drive results in complex and dynamic settings.
