Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity with a rapidly growing pharmaceutical manufacturer? If so, then this is the opportunity for you!

Under general supervision, the Carpenter will perform journey-level work in the design, construction, repair and maintenance of structures, furniture, interior finishes/drop ceilings, doors and related physical facilities. Install signage, construct/open equipment shipping crates, and erect, modify and inspect scaffolding systems onsite.

The Carpenter is responsible for the full range of rough and finished skilled carpentry work, including cabinetry. Incumbents work from work orders and Supervisor direction to build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair various facilities components and structures. Carpenters interface with customers to ensure scope is understood/fully communicated and that work is completed in a safe, respectful and quality fashion. Demonstrate ownership of equipment systems serviced and pride in quality work. Inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations. Estimate cost, time and materials for carpentry projects. Participate in the maintenance and operation of the carpentry shop.

  • Constructs, remodels, retrofits and repairs interior and exterior facilities infrastructure made of wood, drywall, plaster, concrete, brick and others.

  • Designs, constructs, retrofits, and repairs cabinets, tables, shelves, benches, partitions, flooring, door, ceilings and window frames, and other types of furniture. May install and repair modular workstations.

  • Cleans, maintains, adjusts, calibrates and services equipment used in the performance of duties.

  • All work is performed in adherence to state and federal Code Requirements.

  • Demonstrate ownership of workplace safety/site safety culture by adhering to all safety rules/regulations and reporting to supervisor any equipment in need of repair or any unsafe situations or conditions.

  • Assist in performing other duties, including work of other trades as required.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • High School graduate or equivalent. Vocation or technical school certification.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 3 - 5 years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Carpentry Skills. Must have adequate skills to perform required job functions with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to adequately perform required job functions. This includes being able to lift, bend, and move in such a way as to perform job tasks in a safe and approved manner. Must be able to operate required hand/power tools and equipment required by this trade in a safe and approved manner.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Environmental conditions will vary based on the job being performed. Work may take place in either the Carpenter shop and/or in the plant depending upon the job requirements.
