Job Description

Digital Shop Floor Data Enablement Senior Specialist:
Global manufacturing network Team:
Manufacturing Value — Data Enablement Product Team Contract:
Full-time
We welcome applicants based anywhere in Ireland
About the role
We’re seeking an experienced, energetic Senior Specialist to join our Data Enablement product team and help drive digital transformation across our global manufacturing shop floors. You’ll provide technical leadership, guide application-support teams, deliver proofs-of-concept, and lead large-scale deployments of industrial data platforms that enable smarter, faster, and more compliant manufacturing operations.
Why this role matters Your work will directly enable better decision-making on the shop floor — improving quality, productivity, and data integrity — and ultimately help accelerate the delivery of life‑changing healthcare solutions to patients worldwide.
Key responsibilities
  • Work closely with operations and support services to understand shop-floor data needs and translate them into practical technology solutions that improve day-to-day manufacturing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with process engineers and key users to define and maintain company-wide manufacturing assets, process-data requirements, and standard templates.
  • Partner with automation and application leads to define and maintain robust data and system integration standards.
  • Lead complex deployments and upgrades of our data historian and visualization stack, including AVEVA PI Data Archive, PI-AF, PI Notifications, PI Vision, PI Interfaces, and related components.
  • Oversee deployment and upgrades of industrial data operations and access technologies such as Data Brokers, protocol converters, and edge solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the Data Enablement product’s processes, governance, and best practices.
  • Provide day-to-day technical oversight and leadership for application support teams, identifying opportunities to optimize system management and supportability.
  • Contribute to SDLC and computer validation practices where applicable.
What we’re looking for
  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing or related industries; experience in life sciences strongly preferred.
  • Deep, hands-on experience with AVEVA PI Systems: architecture, PI-DA, AF, Analysis, Notifications, PI Vision, DAS and PI Interfaces, and integrations with larger data platforms.
  • Ability to design and explain different PI architectures (on-prem, virtualized, hybrid) and integration patterns.
  • Strong understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies and ecosystems — IoT platforms (e.g., Ignition), data brokers (e.g., HiveMQ), OPC UA technologies (e.g., Kepware, Matrikon), edge gateways, and protocol converters.
  • Familiarity with shop-floor data sources and control systems (DeltaV, PLC/SCADA, BAS) and common shop-floor analytics use cases.
  • Good working knowledge of IT infrastructure considerations that affect data systems (networking, virtualization, storage).
  • Experience with SDLC methodology and computer validation concepts.
  • Self-driven with excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline preferred.
What we offer
  • The chance to work at the intersection of manufacturing, data, and life-saving healthcare innovation.
  • A collaborative, inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives and continuous learning.
  • Opportunities to lead global initiatives and shape the future of industrial data platforms.
  • Competitive salary, benefits, and professional development support.
Our commitment We’re committed to “Inventing for Life.” We put patients at the centre of everything we do and believe inclusive teams deliver the fastest path to meaningful breakthroughs. If you’re ready to apply your technical expertise and leadership to help transform manufacturing data capabilities, we’d love to hear from you.
Join us — help invent solutions that change lives.
