Job Description
- Platform & Solution Architecture
- Define and own the Salesforce enterprise architecture strategy across multiple Salesforce Clouds and instances.
- Lead technical design and architecture for Salesforce implementations spanning Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, CPQ, Marketing Cloud (or Pardot), Commerce Cloud, MuleSoft or other iPaaS, and third-party integrations.
- own and support governance of technical standards, and enterprise architecture principles.
- Define the standards and governance around system and implementation. Serves as advisory board, reviewing major technical decisions and aligning with cross-functional programs. Providing recommendations based on the governance that is set.
- Work with GenAI team to review AI capabilities and to provide framework for AI within Salesforce solutions. Advise the teams on AI solutions presented for custom applications. Review and continuously develop GenAI governance and use within all areas of Development work. (eg. Lightning components, and Apex code for the DevOps team, along with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud, etc., ).
- Governance & Standards
- Define the standards and governance around system and implementation. Serves as advisory board, reviewing major technical decisions and aligning with cross-functional, cross-technology/value team programmes. Providing recommendations based on the governance that is set.
- Establish and enforce architecture standards, design patterns, data models, and integration approaches across multiple Salesforce orgs.
- Serve on the technical governance board, reviewing major solution designs and ensuring cross-functional alignment.
- Integration & Data
- Lead quality, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee the integration of Salesforce with other systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
- Technical Leadership & Delivery Oversight
- Provide technical guidance to Salesforce developers, admins, and architects; support design/code reviews, proofs of concept, and performance tuning.
- Stay current with Salesforce innovations (GenAI, Data Cloud, LWC, Flow) and work with teams to evaluate opportunities to bring new capabilities into Animal Health’s ecosystem.
- Provide support and thought leadership for the technical teams.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with Value Teams, Product Owners, and SI partners to review programs to ensure scalable technical solutions, and awareness of wider enterprise platform programs which will impact Salesforce
- Act as a trusted advisor with both business & technical leadership.
- Security & Compliance
- Ensure Salesforce solutions meet industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
- Implement security controls including role-based access, encryption, and auditability.
- Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate AppExchange products and third-party solutions to extend platform capabilities.
- Promote DevOps, CI/CD, and automation practices to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 15+ years of experience in Salesforce development and architecture, with a strong track record of successful Salesforce implementations, best practices, and functionality.
- Certifications: Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or equivalent certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Application Architect, Salesforce Certified System Architect).
- Technical Skills:
- Deep knowledge of Salesforce development (Apex, LWC, SOQL, Flows) and declarative configuration.
- Strong integration experience with APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures.
- Data modeling, large-scale data migrations, performance optimization, and security design.
- Enterprise Architecture Skills: Understanding of authentication/authorization, IdP/SSO, microservices/SOA, DevOps pipelines, and CI/CD.
- Integration Skills: Experience with Salesforce integration tools and techniques, such as REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, and ETL tools.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a global environment across various, cultures, languages and time zones.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional teams, and value teams.
- Leadership: Proven leadership skills, with experience leading and mentoring development teams.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of business processes and how Salesforce solutions can support and enhance them.
- Innovation: Ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions to business challenges with technology and AI-based critical thinking.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy and quality of Salesforce solutions.
- Optional: Experience in the animal health industry or life sciences would be advantageous.
