Associate Director, Internal & Corporate Communication

Job Title: Associate Director Internal & Corporate Communications

Report line: Executive Director, Communications

Position Summary

The role of the Internal & Corporate Communications Associate Director is to contribute to China’s growth and success by developing effective media relationships, executive communications, and issue management, while also leading employee communications through internal events and platforms that showcase the company’s strategy.

Key responsibilities:

1. Media Relations

Ÿ Develop and maintain relationships with key national, healthcare, financial, business and social media.

Ÿ Conduct media mapping and manage media pools.

Ÿ Lead strategic planning in media communication calendar and content creation.

Ÿ Govern robust media monitoring and reporting.

2. Executive Communication

Ÿ Lead executive communications and prepare narrative support for executive’s media interview and speaking opportunities.

Ÿ Conduct executives and spokesperson media training.

3. Issue/Crisis communications

Ÿ Mitigate brand vulnerability and protect the brand through issue management, change management and training.

Ÿ Support liaison between Company China and global headquarters when issues/crisis arise.

4. Employee communications

Ÿ Lead internal events such as Townhall and Annual Meeting

Ÿ Manage internal communications platforms, including Sync, all-staff emails, WeCom, and the editorial board

Ÿ Communicate the company’s China strategy to employees through platforms such as newsletters and hub.

5. Talent development

Ÿ Grow talents and provide support for team members’ ongoing career development.

Ÿ Develop team and agency’s communications capabilities.

Qualifications

1. Education

Ÿ Undergraduate degree (BA or BS), study of journalism, public affairs, public policy, marketing or communications

2. Personal Attributes

Ÿ In excess of 12 years’ experience in media and/or agency’s roles

Ÿ Proven ability to engage in media and drive strong media relationships and solid media results

Ÿ Possess the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage complex strategic initiatives and programs, while meeting expectations and deadlines within budgetary guidelines

Ÿ Possess strong time and project management and organizational skills, and the ability to remain flexible in a constantly changing environment

Ÿ Strong interpersonal skills in building and maintaining internal and external relationships

Ÿ Proficiency in English language for both oral and written
