The Role As Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, you will partner closely with VAKI site leadership and cross‑functional teams to drive strong financial performance at our manufacturing sites. You will provide analyses, insights, and recommendations that inform operational decisions, cost management, and long‑term planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide regular financial performance updates, analysis, and insights; work closely with site leadership to ensure results are understood and acted upon.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly operating results, financial forecasts, and other reports; summarize information for review while meeting tight reporting deadlines.
  • Construct financial forecasts and budgets in partnership with site leadership and Regional/Global FP&A teams, covering both capital and P&L forecasts.
  • Identify and implement manufacturing efficiencies; track and achieve cost‑saving initiatives.
  • Actively participate in factory management operation meetings, offering proactive business advice to ensure strong financial performance.
  • Support regional and global FP&A initiatives as required.
  • Define and review standard costs in collaboration with the global COSI team and other functional teams; prepare annual profitability plans.
  • Prepare hourly rates for budgeting and standard costing processes and provide analysis on variances.
  • Assist with product costing to support new business opportunities, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide detailed product information for Site CCPs and Margin Evaluations.
  • Support business case evaluations for new projects, product costing, and site‑transfer project assessments within the manufacturing division.
  • Evaluate fixed asset acquisitions, ensure approvals per GOA, and support accounting with internal order creation, asset numbering, and capitalization.
  • Support periodic fixed asset counts; coordinate with Site Operations for count checks, gap analysis, and approvals for accounting deviations.
  • Conduct IQV analysis; coordinate with Site Operations and Procurement to assess inventory health, analyze high inventory impacts on P&L (including obsolescence risk), and finalize monthly provisions.
  • Support periodic inventory counts; work with Finance & Accounting and Site Operations for accurate stock‑take, gap analysis, and correct accounting for variances.
  • Respond to audit queries related to financial budgets, inventory valuation, and standard cost exercises.
  • Ensure compliance and maintain the highest standards of internal control integrity.
Travel Requirement
  • Candidates must be available to travel to Reykjavík, Iceland approximately 3 days each month.
What You Bring to the Table
Required
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Over 5 years of experience in Cost Management Accounting.
  • Experience in organizations with global operations.
  • Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices.
  • Strong skills in risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience in product costing and capital projects evaluation.
  • Proven ability to work with Site Leadership and Site Operations teams at production sites.
  • Advanced PC skills, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP FICO and Production modules.
Preferred
  • An MBA is advantageous and highly regarded.
