Job Description
The main attributes includes but are not limited to:
- Performs General Ledger and month end close activities to ensure that financial statements are in accordance with US GAAP and statutory requirements.
- Prepares or reviews tax returns (VAT returns, CIT/MMTT, SAF-T, e-VAT) and statistical and BNR reports, for accuracy and completeness and ensure timely submission.
- Prepares and /or supports the preparation of statutory financial statements
- Performs/coordinates YE statutory requirements (annual count for fixes assets, vendors balance confirmations, timely settlements/disposals for fixed assets)
- Prepares and/ or supports US GAAP vs statutory reconciliation and investigates, explain differences and initiates required corrections.
- Leads or supports in implementing new fiscal requirements: e.g. e-Invoice, e-VAT, responds to tax authority notifications (e-VAT, SAF-T, Pillar 2, CbCR)
- Obtains tax certificates for tenders, monitors the fiscal statement and ensures the company case a clean fiscal statement.
- Monitors the treasury statements and sends them for processing to BSC, and prepares payment orders for bank transfers.
- Lead or co-lead for /supports local / regional/global projects: e.g. Sabrix implementation, fixed assets alignment between US GAAP and statutory, GL accounts review and update of alternative accounts, statutory vs group reporting reconciliation etc..
- Supports in calculating the entity profitability and transfer price adjustment for statutory accounts.
- Understands, complies with, and helps others develop an understanding of controls to steward our Company's assets and intellectual capital.
- Supports internal, external and tax audits.
- Ensures all accounts are reconciled in a timely manner, balances are accurate and transactions correctly booked.
- Liaise and cooperate with internal and external Service Providers (BSC / KPMG/ EY / Genpact).
- Ensures compliance with financial policies & procedures and incorporation of new regulations and requirements to support our Company's accounting practices (e.g., US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) reporting and local statutory reporting , legal and tax requirements);
- Consults other departments on financial and fiscal compliance related topics (e.g. accruals, fixed assists etc.).
- Develops team members and ensures appropriate back-up capabilities for key activities (e.g. month-end close, tax returns).
- Respects the Internal Book of regulation, the applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs) in ARPIM code and all the applicable Romanian laws. To be added later
Education, experience & competencies:
- Experience in the accounting field for at least 5 years, preferably in the pharma field
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under stress, be flexible, committed, and perform tight tasks
- Interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Strong customer orientation and service orientation
- Ability to cooperate well in a team environment, as well as to work independently
- PC competence with special skills in financial applications (SAP) as well as MS Office (Excel)
- Knowledge of English, written and spoken, fluent level
