Job Summary
This position is reporting to Associate Director of Finance Operations who responsible to sets tax policies and ensures compliance, optimization, and risk management for our company entities in Indonesia, provides internal tax advisory and support for business initiatives, liaises with tax authorities, and serves as the key contact for Indonesia taxation matters.
Develop process governance and evaluation of tax operation and analysis. Ensures system controls are in place and determines operation’s consistency with corporate objectives and standards through various verification methods and procedures.
Responsibilities
1. Tax Compliance:
Responsible for compliance to Indonesia Tax Laws and Regulations (documentation, filing, payment & reporting). Executes remediation if necessary
Reviews and manages periodic filing of tax returns to DGT (CITR, VAT, WHT and others)
Handles periodic review of reconciliation of tax accounts
Assists and prepares relevant tax disclosures for audited financial statements
Conducts transfer pricing evaluation and propose necessary adjustment needed.
2. Tax Assessment
Handles Tax audit. Manage deliverables such as review and reconciliation of tax correction, writing of response letter to dispute erroneous tax findings.
Conducts face to face discussion and negotiation of company position on every tax correction with the DGT.
Propose any tax settlement needed that would benefit the company.
Discuss and obtain approval from Regional Tax Team on any proposed tax settlement.
Support any tax litigation that company may encounter
3. Other Responsibilities:
Provides internal tax advisory services and supports business operations.
Support quarterly tax provisioning including internal report submission in timely and accurate manner.
Manages any tax refund and other matters in compliance with tax regulations.
Establish and enhance appropriate systems, processes, and controls for tax risk management.
Collaborate and build positive relationships with other functions and business partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- Brevet A & B certification is required; additional tax-related certifications (e.g., CPA or BKP) are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian tax laws and regulations, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and transfer pricing.
- Proven experience in tax compliance, tax reporting, and advisory with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in tax calculation, tax planning, and documentation; familiarity with e-filing and Indonesian tax administration systems (e.g., Coretax).
- Experience with ERP systems and tax-related modules (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and strong Excel skills for tax computations.
- Ability to interpret complex tax regulations and provide practical solutions to ensure compliance and optimize tax positions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to explain tax implications to non-tax stakeholders.
- Good business acumen and understanding of cross-functional processes impacting tax (Finance, Supply Chain, Legal, Commercial, etc.).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple tax deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and liaise with tax authorities when required.
- Proactive mindset with a commitment to maintaining compliance and supporting tax efficiency initiatives.
