Job Description

An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Quality Control Microbiology Analyst. In this role you will support laboratory operations within our new facility, contributing to lab and process establishment, and ensuring the highest standards of quality control.

Responsibilities

  • Support laboratory operations within the new laboratory facility on a shift basis (primarily extended days), timing subject to change depending on business needs.
  • Support laboratory operations including equipment qualification (PQ), documentation generation of SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Report and review laboratory data, support generation of batch data, and collate and analyse end of quarter and year reports for all raw data generated.
  • Maintain and release laboratory stock, order laboratory consumables where required.
  • Manage and ensure routine cleans of laboratory equipment are completed as per site procedures, and maintain laboratory housekeeping standards.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in laboratory processes.
  • Actively participate in functional meetings and facilitate cross-functional meetings where required.
  • Participate in laboratory investigations and Root Cause Analysis activities.
  • Participate in internal and external audit and inspection activities.
  • Participate in SME development groups to improve technical expertise.
  • Perform supporting activities for general lab operations, execute tasks such as EM, method verifications, and execution of laboratory studies where required.
  • Support timely training completion and coaching of team members.

Qualifications

Required

  • A degree qualification in a relevant field with preference for background in Microbiology.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience working in a relevant academic or industry field (Internships and student placements will be considered in lieu of experience).
  • Familiarity with microbiological testing techniques.
  • Knowledge of laboratory systems (e.g. LIMS, E-logs, and electronic notebooks).

Preferred

  • Ability to think logically and be proactive under pressure.
  • Effective communicator and technical expertise in science, to be able to share and communicate that knowledge through training other analysts.
