What You Will Do
Responsibilities include, however not limited to:
Software Design and Development
Design, code, test, document, refactor and maintain complex software applications, components and modules
Apply agreed design standards, patterns, methodologies, tools and engineering practices
Produce and communicate design views that balance stakeholder needs
Evaluate design alternatives and trade-offs, using modelling, simulation or prototyping where appropriate
Review and improve your own designs and lead design and code reviews for peers
Systems, Integration, Configuration and Deployment
Design system components using established patterns
Define software modules and build definitions for integration
Perform system integration testing and diagnose and report integration and build issues
Design and maintain software configurations for deployment
Apply standards to ensure reliable, well-engineered releases
Data Engineering and Visualisation
Contribute to the development of data pipelines and data stores
Ensure data accessibility, security and reliability
Design and refine data visualisations with end users
Testing and Quality
Design and execute manual and automated test cases
Define test plans, conditions and acceptance criteria
Analyse and report test results, issues and risks
Additional Responsibilities
Perform ad hoc technical tasks as requested by management
What You Must have
Tertiary qualification
Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
Relevant cloud, Agile and testing certifications are highly regarded
Technical Ownership
Ability to work under general direction with a high level of autonomy
Sound judgement in resolving complex technical issues, with appropriate escalation when required
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
Ability to influence and collaborate with peers and stakeholders
Contribution to user and customer needs analysis
Support for team decision making and technical direction
Problem Solving and Complexity Management
Ability to handle complex, non-routine technical challenges
Use of structured and analytical problem-solving approaches
Knowledge and Communication
Strong software engineering and relevant domain knowledge
Understanding of business context and the impact of technical decisions
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Fluency in English
