Director – Global Market Access – Sustainable Access Solutions Private Market Access Sizing Leader

With the paradigm of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) being jeopardized globally, the MFN potential impacts and the growing delays in reimbursement, the private market is becoming of increasing importance. It is therefore crucial to accurately size and forecast private market opportunities.

Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking a seasoned, high-talent professional to lead the sizing and forecasting of private market opportunities for pipeline assets. This global role spans all franchises within the Sustainable Access Solutions Team, part of Global Market Access, and reports to the Private Market Access Team (PMAT) Leader.

You will combine strategic vision with commercial insight and robust process design to guide where and how we play in private markets. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Build embedded assessments: design and co-lead, with Global Brand Leaders, a rapid private market assessment integrated into EGTM and GPA.

  • Together with Global Commercial teams and DHH, develop and run private market super-segmentation per franchise to identify priority segments/markets per asset (where to play).

  • Size the opportunity: quantify private market potential by asset and market, grounded in ability-to-pay, willingness-to-pay, and HCP willingness-to-recommend. Define private market peak revenue and timing.

  • Support G-R-L Access and Commercial leaders define the optimal go-to-market strategy for private markets

  • Collaborate with Global Commercial teams and HHI to develop a methodology to recommend the optimal mix of private financing solutions. Ensure recommendations align with market dynamics, private market maturity, and brand strategy.

  • Track and interpret trends: serve as a private market trendspotter, identifying accelerators and headwinds by region, market, and therapy area; translate ecosystem shifts into actionable implications for access strategies.

Position Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Master’s degree preferred

Skills

  • Strategic thinker who connects big-picture vision to operational detail and execution.

  • Deep expertise in forecasting, including market modeling and scenario planning.

  • Proven experience partnering with consulting firms and converting analyses into actionable outcomes.

  • Exceptional facilitation and written communication; comfortable moving between executive-level strategy and tactical detail.

  • Strong problem-solving skills; adept at managing multiple workstreams in a complex, matrixed environment

  • Influential collaborator with the ability to build trust and drive outcomes without formal authority; provides strategic counsel to senior leaders

  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of crafting compelling strategies and business cases

  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and alignment-building across internal and external partners

  • Consistent delivery against business goals, balancing short- and long-term priorities

  • Innovative, entrepreneurial mindset; challenges the status quo and fosters a learning culture

  • Ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and geographies

Experience

  • 10+ years in Pharma, Healthcare, or MedTech, required

  • Experience with forecasting or global commercial role, required

  • Experience in market-facing roles, strongly preferred

  • Management consulting experience, strongly preferred

Location: Rahway, NJ (no relocation)

Travel: up to 25% globally

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The salary range for this role is

$190,800.00 - $300,300.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
