Digital is the multiplier that will allow Development Sciences and Clinical Supply (DSCS) to deliver better experiments faster, efficient filing and launch, more robust supply chains and higher-confidence decisions across the portfolio.
The DSCS Digital Technologies organization is responsible for the invention and application of new data-rich tools to support scientists across process development, drug product development and analytical development within DSCS at our Company. We aspire to embed data-intense technologies into the fabric of DSCS culture. The tools that we develop are as diverse as the team developing them, and in this Senior Scientist role, the chosen candidate will leverage their laboratory robotics and automation skills to enable our development efforts across our Company’s small molecule, biologics, and vaccines portfolio.
In this role, we are seeking a motivated Senior Scientist, High Throughput Process Development, located in West Point, PA or Rahway, NJ as part of Digital Technologies Lab Automation. The candidate will be tasked with solving complex process research and development challenges in an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment using cutting-edge data-rich technologies. This includes, but is not limited to, supporting upstream process development, downstream process development, or drug product development in vaccine and/or biologics through high-throughput experimentation and benchtop lab automation.
Responsibilities:
Champion the application of high throughput and data-rich experimentation in upstream and downstream large molecule process development settings
Work collaboratively with large molecule process development teams to understand pain points and translate to high throughput solutions
Work within the Digital Technologies Lab Automation team to produce high throughput solutions, optimize workflows, and potentially build solutions from minimal substrate

Education Minimum Requirement:
Ph.D. in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely-related field
M.S. in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely-related field with at least 2 years of industrial/pharmaceutical or relevant experience
B.S. in in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely-related field with at least 4 years of industrial/pharmaceutical or relevant experience
Required Experience and Skills:
Relevant working experience in drug substance and/or drug product process development in support of biologics and/or vaccines assets
Experience with the development and implementation of high-throughput, benchtop, and/or custom lab automation technologies to streamline bioprocess development
Experience with common process analytical technologies commonly utilized in bioprocess development
Experience with the development and implementation of data science and data engineering tools to accelerate bioprocess development
Demonstrated entrepreneurship skills aimed at delivering impactful novel technologies to key stakeholders
Excellent communication skills, demonstrated creativity, and effective interpersonal skills
Ability to deliver complex solutions under compressed timelines in a dynamic environment
Ability to work in a team environment with cross-functional interactions
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience in new technology research, including a demonstrated track record of identifying, developing, and deploying data-rich tools and methodologies
Evidence of cross-functional collaboration in an academic or industrial setting
Motivated to learn new skills, willingness to take on new challenges, and scientific curiosity

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The salary range for this role is
$117,000.00 - $184,200.00This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
