Job Description
(Job Objectives)
Work closely with Head of Business Development and Alliance Management Associate Director (BD&AM) and the leadership team, develop and implement the business development strategy.
Lead business development projects in alignment with the Company’s growth objectives.
Capitalize partnership opportunities to maximize our company’s product portfolio through active business development and alliance management, mainly for Japan, although projects can span the Asia Pacific region and additional regions.
(Role & Responsibilities)
Develop and implement business development initiatives including:
Objective assessment of current business
Creation of business development strategy
Ideation of new business opportunities
Strategic, operational and financial evaluation
Deal negotiation and execution
Implementation of partnership agreement
Alliance management
Responsible and accountable for ensuring overall successful relationship and contractual management of alliance programs resulting from various transactionsn
Lead and/or participate in Japan/regional/global business development projects as a representative of Japan BD
Required skills:

Superior interpersonal skills and strong team player
Demonstrated leadership, influencing skills, creativity, problem solving and ability to manage complexity in addressing issues within the Company and with outside parties.
Ability to build and manage collaborative relationships at all levels inside and outside of the organization.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Japanese
Experience in understanding and interpretation of contractual language.
Experience/Education:
Worked in healthcare industry as a manager level. Business development/strategic planning experience in a multi-national company required.
Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry with a minimum of 3 years working on projects with external partners.
Broad understanding of global pharmaceutical and biotech industries with a good understanding of drug development, manufacturing and commercialization processes.
