Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sales Manager – Vaccines to lead and coordinate a team of medical representatives within an assigned territory. This role is responsible for driving business performance, developing strong customer relationships, and ensuring the successful promotion of vaccines in compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies.
Role Purpose:
Lead and support a team of medical representatives within the assigned territory
Achieve qualitative and quantitative territory objectives using allocated resources effectively
Support the professional and scientific development of team members
Contribute to customer engagement, promotional activities, symposia, medical-scientific events, and congresses
Build and maintain productive relationships with healthcare professionals and medical opinion leaders
Ensure all activities comply with Romanian legislation, internal regulations, and industry codes of conduct
Key Responsibilities:
Business Management and Territory Development
Anticipate changes in customer behavior and market trends, and align territorial activities accordingly
Develop, prioritize, and implement short-, medium-, and long-term territorial plans in line with marketing strategy
Monitor business performance, market evolution, and competitive activity on a regular basis
Identify growth drivers and barriers within the territory and proactively respond to competitive actions
Ensure effective communication with team members and management to support business plan execution
Coordinate daily team activity to ensure alignment with strategic goals and timely issue resolution
Evaluate customer needs and adjust resources as required
Ensure implementation of marketing and customer plans according to product management guidance
Review and analyze territory performance to understand the causes of strong and weak results
Identify key decision-makers and stakeholders and develop productive relationships with them
Ensure correct client segmentation, targeting, and quarterly/annual territory planning
Support market research initiatives related to the vaccine portfolio
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all territory and portfolio-related activities
Team Management
Serve as a role model in all professional activities
Coordinate team activities in alignment with business unit strategy
Ensure accurate client data management and reporting within the team
Prepare activity reports, managerial analyses, and statistics as required
Hold team members accountable for achieving both individual and team goals
Drive team performance through effective coaching, support, and performance management
Lead regional recruitment efforts, including interviews and hiring
Ensure smooth onboarding and integration of new team members
Conduct performance evaluations and apply corrective actions when needed
Provide continuous feedback and identify development opportunities
Coordinate the regional performance management process
Spend approximately 80% of working time in the field, including 50% outside Bucharest
Communicate team changes in writing to all relevant stakeholders
Ethics and Compliance
Demonstrate advanced understanding of relevant regulations and business rules in complex situations
Ensure full compliance with operating procedures, internal rules, applicable Romanian laws, EFPIA standards, and the ARPIM Code of Ethics
Promote a strong culture of integrity and compliance across the team
Required Qualifications:
University degree
Relevant sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in vaccines
Experience in team coordination
Strong knowledge of the vaccine portfolio, customer base, and business environment
Fluency in English
Basic financial knowledge and budget control experience
