Role Overview
As an MDM Stewardship Specialist, you will perform the practical execution of data governance policies and standards by managing customer master data on a day-to-day basis. You will act as a guardian of data quality, ensuring that customer data remains accurate, complete, consistent, and compliant with enterprise governance rules.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and the MDM lead to review customer data requests, resolve issues, support system changes, maintain stewardship standards, and contribute to downstream data quality and compliance.
Role Description
1. Customer Data Stewardship, Validation, and Maintenance
Steward customer master data (HCP/HCO) to ensure a single trusted source with governed survivorship, harmonization, and cross-domain consistency.
Review, consolidate, and determine accurate and complete customer information across source systems.
Maintain data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and alignment with defined standards and governance rules.
Use Informatica MDM to support stewardship workflows and day-to-day maintenance of customer master data.
Validate customer data changes and ensure appropriate updates are reflected in the golden record.
2. Issue Resolution and Data Quality Management
Analyze customer data and perform merge/unmerge activities as necessary to maintain data integrity.
Establish and monitor data quality checks, including duplicates, conflicts, missing values, and validation against authoritative sources.
Address customer data discrepancies, inconsistencies, and anomalies as they arise.
Perform root cause analysis on data issues and coordinate remediation with source system owners and stakeholders.
Support resolution of stewardship exceptions and customer inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
3. Data Standards Enforcement and Governance Compliance
Enforce standards for master and reference data models, code sets, hierarchies, and golden-record survivorship rules related to customer data.
Ensure compliance with departmental SOPs, governance requirements, and regulatory expectations.
Review and update departmental Standard Operating Procedures to align with current processes and controls.
Ensure policies for sensitive master data, including PII and PHI, are followed.
Maintain adherence to data governance practices across customer master data.
4. Lifecycle Management, Change Control, and Release Support
Operate stewardship workflows for match/merge, issue triage, and lifecycle management, including create, change, and retire activities.
Coordinate domain integration and manage downstream impacts of customer master data changes.
Support system upgrades by validating data integrity, reviewing impacts, and assisting with steward-related testing and readiness activities.
Maintain change control, release planning, and communication for MDM-related changes.
Ensure customer data updates are processed in line with release calendars and business priorities.
5. Collaboration and Business/IT Partnership
Work with business users and IT teams to clarify customer data definitions, resolve conflicts, and improve processes.
Collaborate with commercial, data governance, and technical stakeholders to ensure stewardship activities support enterprise needs.
Communicate customer data issues, impacts, and resolutions clearly to relevant stakeholders.
Support alignment between stewardship operations, business rules, and technical implementations.
Contribute to continuous improvement in customer data management practices through cross-functional partnership.
6. Reporting, SLA Management and UAT
Maintain and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for customer inquiries, stewardship tasks, and project deliverables.
Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for MDM enhancements, system changes, and process improvements.
Review and document stewardship outcomes, quality trends, and operational metrics.
Support reporting and documentation for stewardship operations and compliance tracking.
Contribute to operational excellence through timely execution, documentation, and issue follow-up.
7. Automation
Work on automation and agentic AI initiatives to automate repetitive stewardship activities such as data validation, issue triage, anomaly detection, workflow routing, and status monitoring.
Identify opportunities to reduce manual intervention through intelligent automation, templates, rule-based processing, and AI-assisted stewardship decision support.
Collaborate with technology and enablement teams to evaluate, test, and adopt automation solutions that improve stewardship efficiency and scalability.
Who You Are
Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED required.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in data stewardship, master data management, or related data governance roles.
Strong understanding of customer master data domains, including hierarchy, affiliation, and reference data structures.
Hands-on experience with Informatica MDM is required or highly preferred.
Strong SQL skills are a must.
Experience in data merge/unmerge activities, stewardship workflows, and data quality monitoring.
Experience supporting system upgrades and UAT activities.
Familiarity with CRM systems such as Veeva CRM or similar platforms is an advantage.
Experience working in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
Strong understanding of SOP compliance, operational controls, and SLA management.
Good professional communication skills and ability to work with business and technical stakeholders.
Strong time-management, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented, collaborative, and customer-focused.

The salary range for this role is
$96,200.00 - $151,400.00This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
