Role Overview
- Software Engineer - Veeva Vault Clinical Data

We are seeking an Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain integrations with Veeva Vault Clinical Data, ensuring seamless data workflows and optimized reporting.
Primary: Veeva CDMS expertise, API integrations, software engineering, Clinical domain expertise (GXP)
Secondary: Python or Java programming, strong database experience
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end integrations between Veeva Vault CDMS and internal/external systems using REST APIs, Vault Loader, connectors, and MuleSoft.
- Own and optimize scalable data ingestion and extraction workflows, including bulk loads, document transfers, and metadata synchronization.
- Establish and govern API standards by defining integration contracts and implementing automated testing frameworks to ensure reliability and performance.
- Drive the development of advanced reporting and analytics solutions, including data modeling, transformation, and dashboard enablement for clinical insights.
- Collaborate with business and clinical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions aligned with the Veeva Vault data model.
- Lead release management across DEV, VAL, and PROD environments, ensuring compliance with GxP SDLC, validation, and change control processes.
- Own Agile delivery execution using JIRA, including backlog management, sprint planning, prioritization, and quality delivery.
- Establish operational monitoring and support processes, including alerting, L2/L3 support, and root-cause analysis for integrations and data pipelines.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including solution designs, integration mappings, API specifications, and operational guides, while driving engineering best practices.
Qualifications
- Required
- 6–10 years of software engineering or integration experience, with at least 3+ years focused on Veeva Vault (preferably Vault Clinical Data, CDMS)
- Hands-on experience with Veeva Vault Loader (bulk data/document operations, configuration, troubleshooting)
- Hands-on experience with Veeva Vault APIs (REST, authentication, pagination, error handling)
- Hands-on experience with Postman (collections, scripted tests, environments, automation)
- Hands-on experience with connectors and integration patterns (HTTP/REST, JDBC, SFTP, message queues/webhooks)
- Practical knowledge of the Vault Clinical Data Suite object model and configurations (documents, objects, lifecycles, workflows, roles/permissions)
- Proficiency in a modern programming language (Python, Java, or Node.js) for integration and automation
- Experience producing complex reports and dashboards, including data modeling and transformation (e.g., Vault reports/dashboards, data extracts to BI tools like Tableau/Power BI)
- Experience with SDLC in regulated environments (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11), including validation, change control, and release management
- Strong familiarity with JIRA for Agile delivery (epics/stories, sprint planning, release notes)
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders
- Preferred
- Experience with multiple Vault Clinical Data applications (EDC, CDB, Study training, etc)
- Knowledge of Vault configuration management (migration packages, deployment strategies, environment alignment)
- Security best practices, audit trails, and compliance reporting
- Test automation frameworks for APIs/integrations and performance testing
- Understanding of clinical trial processes, TMF governance, KPIs, and HL7/FHIR (nice to have)
