Veterinary Sales Representative – Companion Animals

About the role

As a Veterinary Sales Representative (Informatore Scientifico Veterinario) you will be responsible for promoting and enhancing the company's Companion Animal product portfolio among veterinarians and other animal health professionals across the assigned territory of Emilia Romagna, Mantova and Modena. This role contributes to business growth through scientific communication, relationship development and technical-commercial support while serving as a trusted partner to veterinary customers in the region.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and commercially minded professional who combines strong scientific expertise with exceptional relationship-building skills.

Tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Promote and educate veterinarians and veterinary clinic staff on the company’s Companion Animal portfolio through accurate, ethical and evidence-based scientific communication.
  • Communicate product benefits, therapeutic indications, safety profiles and best practices to support optimal product use.
  • Provide technical and scientific support, addressing customer inquiries and clinical challenges in collaboration with internal expert teams.
  • Achieve sales targets and KPIs while executing territory plans that drive business growth and customer engagement.
  • Manage the assigned territory through strategic customer segmentation, call planning and efficient resource allocation.
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to customer acquisition and market expansion initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with veterinarians, clinic owners, medical directors, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and academic stakeholders.
  • Organize and deliver scientific meetings, training sessions, webinars and educational programs, sharing the latest clinical evidence and industry updates.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer needs, providing actionable insights and feedback to support business strategy.
  • Effectively utilize Salesforce CRM for activity planning, opportunity management, reporting, and customer data management, while representing the company at veterinary congresses, conferences, and industry events.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Life Sciences, Biological Sciences or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the animal health industry, with a good understanding of the Companion Animal market.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze and communicate scientific data, clinical studies and technical information effectively.
  • Commercial acumen with experience in consultative selling, territory management and business development.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, preferably Salesforce and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build trusted customer relationships and establish credibility with veterinary professionals.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and customer-focused problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with effective planning, prioritization and time-management abilities.
  • Results-driven mindset with a demonstrated commitment to achieving sales objectives and business goals.
  • Collaborative team player capable of working effectively across cross-functional teams and business units.

The salary range for this position is € min 37.400 - € max 63.600.

This is the lowest and highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. This will be based on an individual’s experience, skills, organizational needs and compensation levels within their peer group.
