PRIMARY FUNCTION
Neuspera Medical is seeking a contract Field Clinical Engineer with experience supporting and managing medical device trials at research sites. The qualified consultant will be responsible for clinical trial execution and site management. This will be done by developing and leveraging positive relationships with clinical site personnel including physicians, nurses, and clinical research specialists. Duties include site selection, protocol, and product training, implant support, follow-up support, and site management. The goals of this position are to drive patient recruitment, ensure protocol and data compliance, and provide technical support for clinical procedures.
JOB DUTIES
Conduct Field Clinical Research
- Support site selection and activation process
- Deliver protocol, product, and procedure training at sites
- Provide technical implant and follow-up procedure support
- Ensure protocol compliance and data collection integrity
- Manage site performance against enrollment and data quality targets
- Serve as a liaison between company and physician investigators
- Collaborate on publications
Support Research and Development
- Work with R&D to develop next-generation technology and improvements to existing technology
- Target leaders in the field, and then establish and expand collaborative ties between Neuspera Medical and these physicians
- Contribute to a goal-oriented, collaborative & productive work environment
- Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. May supervise the activities of others
The ideal consultant will have experience in all the above areas with an implantable medical device application background, and be familiar with working in hospitals and clinics. External relationships include physicians, clinic staff, hospital staff, and research subjects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum - 4-year Bachelor of Science or Engineering with > 12 years experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering or Medical Science
- Preferred - Master’s degree in Engineering or Medical Science with > 12 years of experience
- Minimum - 12 years of experience in a technical or medical field
- Preferred - 12 years of field experience supporting active implantable devices
- Human physiology, physician and hospital practices, engineering, basic computer skills
- Must be able to observe live surgical procedures for purposes of documentation and training
- Must be able to communicate with physicians, internal staff, and patients during surgical procedures, i.e., in a noisy environment, in presence of sterile field, and with limited visibility
