The Role:
The Laboratory Operations group at SonoThera is seeking to hire a Senior Laboratory Technician to become an integral part of the gene therapy drug development effort. This role requires adaptability and an ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment. A qualified candidate will have broad experience in biology laboratory operations. This is an on-site position, Monday through Friday.
What You Will Do:
As a Senior Laboratory Technician, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the laboratory by handling and managing daily tasks. This includes supporting all laboratory activities, maintaining equipment to minimize downtime, and ensuring a consistent supply of materials. Your work will be essential to meeting company timelines and goals. You will:
- Prepare and sterilize laboratory reagents
- Restock, organize, and order regular laboratory consumables and supplies
- Shipping/Receiving of biological samples
- Update laboratory equipment and chemical inventories as needed
- Provide assistance and prepare laboratory for EH&S and IACUC inspections
What You Will Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience. Biotechnology start-ups desired
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for significant times throughout the day
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- MS Office (Word, Excel) – Intermediate user proficiency
- Experience using ERP
- Experience handling medical & chemical waste
- Experience making standard lab media & solutions
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $89,250.00 to $105,000.00 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including, without limitation, individual education, experience, tenure, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data, including potential adjustments for geographic location.
