The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist with expertise in analytical techniques, particularly in qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, MSD analysis, cell assays, and circular RNA analytics (with HPLC knowledge as a plus). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RNA biology within the biotechnology industry. This role will play a crucial part in our analytical team, contributing to the development and validation of assays that are pivotal to our RNA-based product pipeline.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
- Develop and optimize qPCR, ddPCR, capillary electrophoresis and ELISA assays for the characterization and quantification of RNA-based products.
- If needed Perform MSD analysis and develop cell-based assays to evaluate RNA-based therapeutic candidates.
- Utilize RNA analytics for novel modalities like circular RNA, with proficiency in HPLC analytics as an additional advantage, to enhance analytical capabilities.
- Design and execute experiments to support method development, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct analytical testing and data analysis with the quality required for regulatory environment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with research, structural design, and bioprocess teams to support RNA related projects
- Manage 1 to 2 direct reports, providing mentorship and guidance in their professional development (as opportunity arises).
- Demonstrate strong project management skills, ensuring timelines and milestones are met effectively.
- Facilitate cross-group coordination to ensure seamless integration of analytical activities across projects.
- Contribute to technical reports, SOPs, and regulatory submissions related to analytical methods and data.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensure calibration, and troubleshoot instrumentation issues as needed.
- Stay abreast of scientific literature, industry trends, and technological advancements relevant to mRNA and circRNA therapies.
Requirements:
- PhD or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Analytical Chemistry, or related discipline, with minimum of 3 years industry with PhD, or equivalent experience.
- Focus on analytical development, or experience in a CMC group is a plus.
- Expertise in qPCR, ddPCR, capillary electrophoresis, ELISA, MSD analysis, and cell-based assay development
- Strong background in circular RNA analytics; proficiency in HPLC analytics is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage direct reports and coordinate activities effectively within and across teams.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex data and findings persuasively, particularly through engaging slide decks.
- Excellent time management skills with a track record of delivering results on time.
- Previous experience with ELNs like Benchling is a must.
