The Role:

We are seeking a motivated and creative Senior Associate Scientist to join our team to support cell therapy discovery programs that involve various immune cell types. Reporting to the Senior Scientist, the Senior Associate Scientist of Cell Therapy Discovery will be a dedicated and innovative professional. The successful candidate will be a part of the research team currently focused in developing research processes for novel T and B cell therapeutics, with the possibility to expand to other immune cell types. The ideal candidate would have expertise in lab-based techniques aimed at culturing, transducing and/or editing and characterizing engineered human primary T and/or B cells. Responsibilities:

• The individual will work in the laboratory and be responsible for the experimental execution and data analysis for research studies supporting cutting edge therapeutic programs and platform discovery research.
• Employ viral vector strategies or CRISPR editing technology for the genetic modification of human T or B cells.
• Develop and conduct in vitro analytical and functional bioassays for characterizing engineered T or B cells.
• Assist in the expansion and cell banking of engineered cell lines, laboratory maintenance, generation of SOPs and other technical documents as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor or Master of Science (MS preferred) in Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry, with 5+ years of hands-on experience in the development of new biological therapeutics or pharmaceutical products is required.
• Direct experience with flow cytometry, primary human T cell culture and techniques to characterize primary T cells including cytokine analysis, cytotoxicity, and proliferation assays is required. Experience in CRISPR-based engineering of human cells is required.
• Experience with primary human B cell culture and techniques is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and technically skilled.
• Highly adaptable and responsive, and committed to completing tasks in a timely fashion.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment as a team player with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to maintain written records in the form of laboratory notebooks (paper or electronic)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
